Sherlock kicked off its fourth season by having Sherlock (Benedict Cumberbatch) and Watson (Martin Freeman) solve a case of a son found dead in his car in his parent’s driveway. Of course, no case is as straightforward as Sherlock makes it sound and the vast shadow of Moriarty (Andrew Scott) lurks throughout the episode.

The son’s death solved, viewers are quickly taken on an international romp when it is revealed that Mary’s (Amanda Abbington) past has come back to haunt her. The mystery of who betrayed Mary’s team six years prior climaxes with the double agent shooting at Sherlock and Mary jumping between him and the bullet.

After Mary is buried Sherlock receives a disc with “Miss Me?” written on it. He believes it is the first clue of the expected Moriarty conspiracy. It isn’t. It is a video of Mary giving Sherlock the most difficult case of his career: Save John Watson. Save him.

What did you think of shocking Sherlock Season 4 climax? Can Sherlock save Watson? What does Mycroft (Mark Gatiss) have up his sleeve? What of the conspiracy Sherlock believes Moriarty planned before his death?
