No. 19: Superman (Val-Zod) of Earth-2 and Superman (Calvin Ellis) of Earth-23 – DC Comics

In Earth-2’s universe Val-Zod escaped Krypton’s destruction along with cousins Kal-El and Kara Zor-El. Val’s shuttle veered off course and arrived on Earth years later. Once Val arrived he was imprisoned by the sociopath Terry Sloane until he was rescued. After reuniting with Kara, Val eventually became Earth-2’s new Superman. Val-Zod has been a prominent player in this reality since issue #19 of Earth-2 (2014). He is currently helping to restore the planet after the ravages of intergalactic invasions in the pages Earth-2: Society.

Dubbed the ‘Obama Superman’, Calvin Ellis is the President of Earth-23’s United States of America. Calvin Ellis made his appearance in Final Crisis #7 (2009). Ellis along with other Supermen from the multiverse joined forces to defeat a vampire god. Calvin returned during the New 52 in Action Comics #9 (2012). The Superman of Earth-23 would later be seen in the mini-series The Multiversity as a member of Justice Incarnate. Calvin guest-starred in Superman during the recent Multiplicity storyline (January 2017).

Powers: Calvin and Val Zod possess the powers of flight, super strength, invulnerability, enhanced vision, heat vision, super speed, super hearing and super-breath.
