No. 1: Storm (Ororo Munroe) – Marvel Comics

One of the most valued and respected leaders of the X-Men. Ororo Munroe is also Headmistress of the Jean Grey School for Higher Learning, and a former Queen of Wakanda.  Storm made her debut in Giant Sized X-Men #1 (1975). She has the ability to manipulate the weather and is empathically connected to the weather. Storm has also participated on X-Men spinoff teams: X-Force and the X-Treme Sanctions Executive. She was also a member of the Avengers for a brief period.

Ororo is a formidable thief; she honed this skill while growing up on the streets of Cairo. These skills have aided her on numerous occasions including the mid-1980s in which Storm was powerless but still leading the X-Men. Storm has made numerous appearances in other media including cartoons and films. Ororo currently stars in Extraordinary X-Men and the mini-series Inhumans vs. X-Men. Storm has regularly appeared in X-Men: Gold since the spring of 2017.
