Will The CW Hit a Bullseye with Arrow Spinoff Pilot?

In news that is sure to get Geek Confidential’s Dan Pearce excited it appears The CW may be wrapping up Oliver Queen’s (Stephen Amell) story on Arrow, but it isn’t done with Star City.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the netlet is developing an Arrow spinoff featuring an all-female lead cast of Katie Cassidy, Juliana Harkavy and Katherine McNamara as familiar characters Laurel Lance, Dinah Drake and Mia Smoak.

Reportedly, a backdoor pilot will be filmed as part of Arrow’s eight and final season.

The special episode will be co-written by Beth Schwartz, Marc Guggenheim, Jill Blankenship and Oscar Balderrama. The four will also be executive producers with Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter.
