Watch Black Lightning’s Extended Trailer Before It Returns Tonight!

Black Lightning returns with its Season 3 premiere tonight on The CW. It kicks the season off with an episode titled, “The Book of Occupation: Chapter One: Birth of Blackbird.” The title is almost self-explanatory and definitely sets the season tone.

Anissa (Nafessa Williams) and Jennifer (China Anne McClain) find themselves abandoned when Jefferson (Cress Williams) and Lynn (Christine Adams) are taken into ASA custody by Agent Odell (Bill Duke).

Agent Odell considers the threat from Markovia to be so great that Black Lightning and Freeland must be protected. He not so subtly threatens the sisters with their parents’ security.

Chaos breaks out in Freeland as the sisters fend for themselves and fight to protect their city. With the help of Gambi (James Remar), Anissa secretly defies Odell to do what her father can’t. And thus Blackbird is born.
