CBS All Access Drop Star Trek: Picard Trailer at NYCC

The past is written, but we are left to write the future.

Star Trek: Picard may be one of the most highly anticipated new series for 2020. Over the weekend CBS All Access premiered a new trailer at New York Comic-Con (NYCC).

Patrick Stewart returns to his iconic role as Jean-Luc Picard and in the trailer, we learn Picard believes he is standing up for the Federation.

The Star Trek: Picard teases appearances by such long-time favorites as Seven of Nine (Jeri Ryan), Data (Brent Spiner) William Riker (Jonathan Frankes) and Deanna Troi (Mariana Sirtis). While Picard and his fellow Star Trek icons may be the hook for long-time fans, the introductions of the show’s new characters is equally compelling.

Who is Dahj (Isa Briones) and who is hunting her? What brought Raffi (Michelle Hurd), a former intelligence officer, to the precipice of substance abuse? How will Romulans Elnor (Evan Avagora) and Narek (Harry Treadaway) factor into Picard’s newest mission?

The timeline for Star Trek: Picard is set between Star Trek: Nemesis (2002) and Star Trek (2009) where Romulus is destroyed.

In the trailer, Picard is asked if he really wants to go back out into the cold. His reply? More than ever? And that sums up our take of this latest addition to the Star Trek mythos. More than ever, we are ready for Star Trek: Picard.

Star Trek: Picard premieres on CBS All Access on January 23, 2020.
