For three seasons Jason Behr starred on The WB’s Roswell as Max Evans opposite of Shiri Appleby (Liz), Katherine Heigl (Isabel) and Brendan Fehr (Michael).
Now Behr is set to recur in The CW’s newest telling of the Roswell mythology by appearing in Roswell: New Mexico when it returns at midseason. Behr’s casting was announced at New York Comic-Con panel.
We’re very excited that Jason will be joining us for a multi-episode arc. It’s only fitting that he’s playing a (currently top secret) character with deep ties to Roswell, New Mexico’s history. Working with him has already been such a special experience for all of us –– particularly when [Roswell costar] Shiri Appleby was on set to direct him. I was such a huge fan of Roswell as a kid, so having their stamp of approval –– not to mention their expertise and advice –– has really meant the world to me, the cast, and the crew.”
However, Jason Behr’s casting wasn’t the only Roswell: New Mexico casting news to come out of NYCC.
Former Friday Night Lights and Grey’s Anatomy star Gaius Charles, who portrayed Smash Williams, is also joining the show in a recurring the recurring role of “a local farmer with a strong moral compass that leads him to see the good in people–and aliens–in a time of great prejudice. Ultimately, his quest to protect those he loves pits him against forces far more powerful than he is.”
Obviously, between the original Roswell’s cult following and FNL’s legion of loyal fans, these are big scores for Roswell: New Mexico. Are you excited by the castings? Who else would you like to see cast by the show? Let us know in the comments below!
