CBS is rebooting another classic. Following in the footsteps of Hawaii Five-0, Magnum P.I., MacGyver and S.W.A.T., the Tiffany network is developing a pilot of The Equalizer.

According to Deadline, the modern spin on the 1980s series will star Queen Latifah and will be written by Andrew Marlowe and Terri Miller.

The original CBS series starred Edward Woodward as a retired intelligence agent turned private detective helps various threatened clients to equalize the odds.  The 2014 big screen adaptation starred Denzel Washington.

The Equalizer is just Latifah’s latest television projects. She starred in Fox’s Star for three seasons and portrayed Ursula in ABC’s The Little Mermaid Live on November 5.
