Avengers: Endgame and Joker Among Oscars’ Shortlist

Awards season is coming upon us quickly! The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced the official Oscar Nominations shortlist for nine categories. Music(Original Score), Make Up and Hairstyling, Visual Effects, and Documentary feature were among the nine. From the looks of the lists, there are several appearances from comic book, fantasy and sci-fi movies.

Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame made the list for Visual Effects alongside Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, and will be going against Warner Bros. Joker for Music (Original Score). Joker, which passed the billion dollar mark in theaters, was also up for Makeup and Hairstyling with Maleficent: Mistress of Evil.

Check out the full shortlist on Deadline! The official nominations for The Academy Awards will be released on January 13th, and the ceremony will be on February 9th.
