There’s been a disturbance in The Force. The upcoming Disney Plus series based on iconic Star Wars character Obi-Wan Kenobi is officially on hold per Collider.

Production has not begun on Obi-Wan yet, but the show is currently being reset. Primary series writer Hossein Amini is no longer attached to the project. There is currently a demand out for new scripts for the series.

Ewan McGregor is still set to reprise his role as Obi Wan Kenobi. The director’s chair will still be occupied by The Mandalorian alum Deborah Chow. All other aspects of the show are now up in the air. There is also wide speculation that the sudden halt of all things Obi-Wan has reduced the series episode order, and pushed back the premier date.

This isn’t the first time the Obi-Wan project has hit a snag. The series was originally supposed to be a feature film, but was ultimately adapted into a Disney Plus production.

Sound off in the comments on whether the Obi-Wan series can go the distance!
