Not even the Time Stone can fix this one. Scott Derrickson has officially vacated the director’s chair for Marvel’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness per Variety!
The reason behind Derrickson’s departure is the dreaded “creative differences”. This is an interesting turn of events since he also directed 2016’s Doctor Strange. Derrickson took to Twitter and revealed the split was mutual.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is set to begin production in May. It’s going to be a mad dash to find a few director before then. The film is still expected to to be released on May 7,2021.
Thankfully, Benedict Cumberbatch and Benedict Wong are reprising their roles as Doctor Strange and Wong in the sequel. The film will also star Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch.
