Since it was announced in November 2019 that Noah Hawley would be writing and directing Star Trek, there have been a slew of questions concerning the story and cast. Originally it was reported it would be Star Trek 4, but things have drastically changed since then.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Hawley reflected “To call it Star Trek IV is kind of a misnomer. I have my own take on the franchise as a life-long fan.” He touches on the issue of the cast by stating “It’s early days. I don’t know. But new characters often involve new cast.”
From the sound of things, don’t expect Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto in this version of Star Trek. The film is still set to be produced by Bad Robot, which is former Star Trek director, J.J. Abrams‘ ,company.
Is it time for a new Star Trek big screen foray? Sound off in the comments.
