A horror film aficionado is about to jump into the world of video games. Eli Roth will direct Borderlands, a film based off the video game of the same name per The Hollywood Reporter.
Roth’s last film, The House With a Clock in Its Walls, was a more fantasy story for the horror director. It’s obvious Roth is branching out into other genres. Lionsgate is the driving force behind Borderlands. Furthermore, Craig Mazin wrote the adaptation.
Borderlands is originally a first person shooter video game which takes place in the abandoned fictional plant of Pandora. The goal is to complete quests while searching for a mysterious relic. The 2009 game spawned 4 games in total.
