Rick Moranis was an unforgettable face in 1980’s film. From Ghostbusters to Spaceballs to Little Shop of Horrors, he did it all. Rick quietly retired from onscreen acting in the mid-1990’s to care for his family. Thankfully, Deadline reports Moranis is finally stepping back in front of the camera for Disney.
Moranis will appear in Shrunk, the reboot of his 1989 hit Honey ,I Shrunk the Kids! He portrayed Wayze Szalinski in the first film and the sequel 1992’s Honey, I Blew Up the Kid!
This time, the move will feature Szalinski’s son portrayed by Josh Gad. It turns out his son is also a scientist who will manage to shrink his kids. Joe Johnston will direct the new film as he did the original.
Shrunk is currently slated to be a true feature film and not a Disney Plus exclusive. Todd Rosenberg is penning the screen play, while Hoberman and Todd Lieberman are producing the project through Mandeville Films.
