CW’s Supergirl may have two fewer ‘super friends’ to call upon in the future. Deadline is reporting that Odette Annable (Samantha Arias/Reign) and Chris Wood (Mon-El) have joined the pilot of thirtysomething(else), a continuation of ABC’s awarding winning drama Thirtysomething. The pair will portray siblings Janey and Leo Steadman, children of the original series’ lead couple Michael and Hope Steadman (Ken Olin and Mel Harris). Harris and Olin are both expected to reprise their roles in the pilot.

Annable and Wood did not give off sibling vibes when their characters crossed paths in Supergirl’s third season. Many of their interactions involved super-powered fisticuffs. When Mon-El and Reign were not busy pummeling each other, they were grappling with interpersonal issues. Annable’s character spent a large amount of time switching between two personas: single parent Samantha and the world destroyer Reign. Mon-El, who had just returned from the 31st century, was part of a romantic triangle involving Supergirl (Melissa Benoist). Annable and Wood along with their respective characters departed National City by the season finale.

Mon-El may have returned to the future, however Wood is currently visiting another one of his old CW haunts on Legacies. Wood is reprising role of Vampire Diaries‘ villain Kai Parker, and is terrorizing the character’s nieces (Lizzie and Josie Saltzman) along with former brother-in-law Alaric Saltzman. If thirtysomething(else) gets picked up this may be fans last opportunity to see Wood on a genre show for a while.
