The Emmy may have more options than normal this year! The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences may extend the calendar submission deadline per Variety.

With the Coronavirus pandemic delaying almost every production out there, this may be a necessary step. Currently, the deadline to submit an entry reel is May 11. The voting on nominations is from June 15 to June 29. Nominations are set to be announced on July 14. The awards ceremony is still scheduled to be September 20th.

Right now, several execs from all major networks, streamers and studios have set up a call with the Television Academy to discuss all options in regards to the Emmys.

The Emmys were moved once before in 2001 due to 9/11. The actual ceremony did not happen until November 4th. It’s possible this year’s ceremony could be moved to October, but nothing is set in stone at the time.

Would you mind the Emmy Awards airing later in the year? Sound off in the comments.
