With many shows in limbo, one CW program is about to get its start. Stargirl will officially hit the small screen on May 19th at 8pm, per Entertainment Weekly!
The show will get a soft release the day before, May 18th, on the DC Universe streaming app! The series will replace The Flash in the line up. Stargirl is another Greg Berlanti produced project.
Stargirl features the story of Courtney Whitmore (Brec Bassinger), a teen who just started in a new high school in a new city. Her mother marries former superhero sidekick Pat Dugan (Luke Wilson) and she soon learns of his past. During her education, she finds Justice Society of America’s Starman’s (Joel McHale) Cosmic Staff and quickly becomes Stargirl. As she battles new villians, Dugan discovers her actions. He refuses to let her fight alone and becomes her new sidekick, a 15 foot robot named S.T.R.I.P.E.
The series was created by Geoff Johns, who also wrote the Stargirl comic. Queen Sugar’s Melissa Carter serves as co-showrunner.
