Wonder Woman 1984 Release Delayed

Don’t expect to see Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) on the big screen any time soon. Warner Bros. announced Wonder Woman 1984 will now premiere on August 14th per Variety!

The sequel to 2017’s Wonder Woman was originally set to debut on June 5th. However, the Coronavirus pandemic has forced the studio to push the date to late summer. Wonder Woman 1984 was the last big summer blockbuster hold out to move it’s date.

There was chat that the film could end up as a direct to digital release, but Warner Bros. shut those rumors down today. Warner Bros Motion Picture Group chairman Toby Emmerich expressed “When we greenlit WW 1984 it was with every intention to be viewed on the big screen and are excited to announce that Warner Bros Pictures will be bringing the film to theaters on August 14th. We hope the world will be in a safer and healthier place by then.”

Wonder Woman 1984 stars Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Connie Nielsen, Robin Wright and Kristen Wiig.
