“Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in.” – Michael Corleone, The Godfather Part III .
The Mouse House is making a major change. Bob Iger is back to running the whole show at Disney, per The New York Times.
In February, Bob Iger passed the torch to Bob Chapek after 15 years as the top executive at Disney. However, with the Coronavirus pandemic shuttering much of Disney’s operations, Iger is back to calling many of the shots.
Iger states, ““A crisis of this magnitude, and its impact on Disney, would necessarily result in my actively helping Bob [Chapek] and the company contend with it, particularly since I ran the company for 15 years!”
The executive has a one track mind to keep Disney on the path to success, even though that may mean the company will be different after the pandemic ends. He did confirm “any decision about staff reductions will be made by my successor and not me.”
The future is sure to be a roller coaster ride
