Hunger Games Prequel Set at Lionsgate

Happy Hunger Games! May the odds be ever in your favor!

The popular Hunger Games movie series is about to get a new installment. Lionsgate is currently developing a Hunger Games prequel, per The Hollywood Reporter.

The film will follow the story of Suzanne Collins‘ upcoming novel The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. The book is set in the The Hunger Games universe, and serves as a look into the happenings of the tenth annual Hunger Games. The focus will be on an 18-year old Coriolanus Snow, long before he becomes the dastardly President of Panem.

Francis Lawrence returns to the franchise as director, while Michael Arndt will pen the screenplay. Nina Jacobson will also be back as a producer. She held the role in the previous 4 films.
