Frak Yeah! Battlestar Galactica Reboot Finds Writer

A popular science fiction series is getting the reboot treatment and new writer. Michael Lesslie will write and co-executive produce the Battlestar Galactica reboot on NBCUniversal’s Peacock streaming service, per Deadline!

Lesslie is the pen behind feature films Assassin’s Creed and Macbeth. His latest stint was as Head Writer for AMC’s miniseries The Little Drummer Girl. Mr. Robot creator Sam Esmail will also executive produce and develop the show.

Lesslie, a fan of the 2005 hit Ronald D. Moore series, states ” “I am beyond excited to be taking on this iconic and inspirational show. As a lifelong devotee, I know that the possibilities of Battlestar Galactica’s world are infinite and that each iteration has raised the bar for epic and intelligent sci-fi storytelling. “

Peacock will go live on July 15, 2020.
