James McAvoy to Star in Sandman Audible Adaptation

A popular DC Comic Book is getting the audio book treatment with a A-List Hollywood star. James McAvoy will lead the adaption of DC/Vertigo comic The Sandman on Audible, per The Hollywood Reporter.

McAvoy will portray the main character Dream of the Endless, who rules of the world of dreams. There are 7 Endless siblings: Dream, Destiny, Death, Desire, Despair, Delirium (formerly Delight), and Destruction. Dream is accidentally captured, and the story follows his journey to release seven decades later.

The first run of The Sandman comic book by Neil Gaiman was from 1989-1996. The audio book version will cover the first 3 volumes of the comic. The first part of the Audible adaptation drops on July 15. Gaiman will narrate the book.

McAvoy joins a star studded cast. Riz Ahmed, Justin Vivian Bond as Desire, Arthur Darvill, Kat Dennings as Death, Taron Egerton, William Hope, Josie Lawrence, Miriam Margolyes as Despair, Samantha Morton, Bebe Neuwirth, Andy Serkis and Michael Sheen as Lucifer round out the company of actors.

The adaptation is current available for pre-order on Audible.
