More trouble in comic book paradise for The CW. Skeet Ulrich drops the reason he left Riverdale is because he “got bored creatively” in an Instagram Live video.

Ulrich portrays FP Jones, father to Jughead Jones (Cole Sprouse), on the teen comic drama. In the video, he is very blunt on why he chose to leave the series. “I’m leaving ‘Riverdale’ because I got bored creatively. How’s that? That’s the most honest answer.” It doesn’t quite get more honest than that.

Neither The CW or series creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa have given a response to Ulrich’s comments. Back in February when the news of Ulrich’s departure was announced, Aguirre-Sacasa stated Ulrich was always welcome in Riverdale. The show is set to return for season five in January.

It been a bit of a rough week for The CW comic world. Ruby Rose abruptly leaving the lead role in Batwoman, and now Ulrich voicing his less than savory opinion of his Riverdale character.
