The limits are endless these days. Doug Liman will officially direct a film in space starring Tom Cruise, per Deadline.

The film is currently top secret, and will be from an independent studio. Both Elon Musk‘s Space X and NASA will have some involvement with the shoot. Naturally, the movie will be an action adventure thriller.

Doug Liman and Tom Cruise have been working on this concept for a while. Liman wrote the screenplay and will co-produce the film with Cruise. The director and actor are very familiar with one another. The two previously worked together on Edge of Tomorrow and American Made.

No word on when pre-production will begin on the space shoot. Both the director and actor have several projects that were put on hold due to the Coronavirus pandemic. If successful, this will be the first movie to actually film actors in space.
