Kate Kane is Not Dead on CW’s Batwoman

As the days go by, the news surrounding The CW’s Batwoman is constant. Showrunner Caroline Dries confirms Kate Kane (Ruby Rose) will not die in the second season, per The Hollywood Reporter.

Rumors were swirling all around the television world that Kate Kane would meet her maker when the series returns in January. We know the character will be replaced by a new Batwoman. Dries spoke out against the rumors earlier this week.

She states, “As a lesbian who’s been working as a writer for the past 15 years, I’m well aware of the ‘Bury Your Gays’ trope and I have no interest in participating in it. That’s why it’s important to me as the showrunner to clarify any misinformation out there about Kate Kane and recasting Batwoman. Like you, I love Kate Kane — she’s the reason I wanted to do the show. We’ll never erase her. In fact, her disappearance will be one of the mysteries of season two.

There you have it folks! Kate Kane isn’t dying, but she will no longer be part of the show. New character “Ryan Wilder” will be the new “atypical” Batwoman in Season 2!
