Ryan Gosling Cast in Wolfman

Universal’s classic monster universe is finally starting to shape up. Wolfman, the next film in the works, will star Ryan Gosling, per Variety!

The studio has yet to release the plot of Wolfman, but werewolves will be the main focus. Rumor has it Gosling will portray a news anchorman who becomes a werewolf. The film will take influence from the original 1941 film The Wolf Man, which starred Lon Chaney Jr.

Lauren Schuker Blum and Rebecca Angelo wrote the script for Wolfman. Blum is the wife of Jason Blum, owner of Blumhouse productions. Gosling is actually the one to pitch the film to the studio.

Universal’s The Invisible Man is the first successful film in the relaunch of the monster universe. The Elisabeth Moss led film earned $122 million at the box office.

Expect an announcement for a director of Wolfman soon.
