
Bill and Ted aren’t only facing the music, they’re facing the reality of coronavirus as well.
Alex Winter, who co-stars opposite Keanu Reeves, as Bill and Ted revealed on Twitter that not only will Bill and Ted Face the Music be released in select theaters on September 1, but it will also be available via video-on-demand.
In the era of coronavirus, movie studios have faced the decision whether to go forward with the release of their films or post–pone the release date. Many big budget films such as Tenet and Wonder Woman 1984 keep getting pushed back as coronavirus outbreaks spike across the country.
However, some studios have found success by releasing their movies via on-demand services. Universal’s decision to release Trolls World Tour took in nearly 100 million dollars in the first 19 days of release via on-demand rental fees.
