A popular animated series is getting more content on Disney Plus. The Mouse House streamer is set to develop two films based on the Miraculous series, per Variety.

Miraculous tells the story of two teens who magically transform into superheroes Ladybug and Cat Noir to battle all evil in Paris. The popular series airs in 120 territories on both Netflix and Disney Plus. The two new films are titled Miraculous World: New York – United HeroeZ and Miraculous World: Shanghai – Lady Dragon.

The films are a chance for the duo to branch out of Paris. Jeremy Zag, founder and CEO of ZAG, the company that created the series, speaks highly of the new films. “With our two new movies, we’re expanding the world of ‘Miraculous’ like never before as Ladybug and Cat Noir explore New York and Shanghai, and meet new superheroes as they take on treacherous villains far away from their home city of Paris.”

The two films are currently in pre-production! There is also a feature film in the works to premiere in late 2021/early 2022!
