History really does repeat itself! MTV is rebooting early 2000s series Clone High, Viacom announced.
The return of Clone High also brings original creators Phil Lord, Chris Miller and Bill Lawrence back to the fold. The trio will develop and produce new episodes of the animated series. In a change from the original run, Erica Rivinoja will serve as showrunner. She was a writer in the 2000’s for the show, and will co-write the pilot with Lord and Miller.
The series will still focus on high profile historical figures who have been cloned, and end up back in high school. Abraham Lincoln, Cleopatra, Joan of Arc, John F. Kennedy and more will live as teenagers along with all the drama that comes with it.
Chris McCarthy, President, ViacomCBS Entertainment and Youth Group gave a few words on the upcoming installment of Clone High. He states, “We thrilled to reunite with Phil Lord, Chris Miller and Bill Lawrence to re-imagine this cult classic as we rapidly grow our portfolio of beloved and iconic adult animation series.”
No word on if any of the original voice actors will return, but it’s still early in the game.
