A British historical medieval drama is getting another season. The Last Kingdom will return for a Season 5 on Netflix, per Deadline.

The series tells the story of Uhtred of Bebbanburg (Alexander Dreymon), a Saxon born warrior who grows up as a Viking, in ninth and tenth-century England. He must train King Edward’s first-born son Aethelstan (Caspar Griffiths) as a warrior, but his own drive and determination serve a higher purpose. Uhtred will have to come face to face with his greatest enemy, and suffer his biggest defeat.

The Last Kingdom is an adaptation of Bernard Cornwell’s The Saxon Stories novels. The 5th season will focus on the novels The Warriors of the Storm and The Flame Bearer.

Gareth Neame, Nigel Marchant and Jessica Pope co-executive produce the series. The show began on BBC Two in 2015, and moved to Netflix permanently in 2018.
