The wizarding world will have to find a new home. All eight Harry Potter movies are leaving HBO Max at the end of August per Variety!
The films were part of the HBO Max’s original hype when the streamer first debuted on May 27th. In three short months, the thrill is gone. The films will end their run on HBO Max on August 25th.
There is speculation the removal of the films is due to Harry Potter creator J.K. Rowling’s recent controversy surrounding her unsavory comments on trans gender lives. However, the network confirms the films are leaving due to standard licensing terms.
In place of the Harry Potter films, HBO Max is adding a slew of Batman movies. Batman (1989), Batman & Robin, Batman Begins, Batman Forever, Batman Returns, and The Dark Knight will all be available in August!
