Splinter Cell to Become Anime Netflix Series

A popular early 2000’s video game is getting the television treatment. Splinter Cell is set to become an anime series on Netflix, per Variety.

The anime series will be a joint venture between Netflix and Ubisoft. Word around the business is the show received a two-season, 16 episode order. Derek Kolstad will pen and executive produce the project. His most recent credits include John Wick and Disney Plus’ upcoming The Falcon and The Winter Soldier.

Splinter Cell follows U.S. Navy SEAL Sam Fisher’s journey to work for the NSA’s Third Echelon division. Fisher must complete several black ops missions while using stealth and military tactics. There are six sequels to the original video game along with a series of novels.

Rumors of a Splinter Cell feature film have been around since 2012. Tom Hardy is the top choice for Sam Fischer.
