At this point, don’t look forward to any big blockbusters happening in 2020. Top Gun: Maverick and A Quiet Place Part II will now debut in 2021, according to Deadline!
A Quiet Place Part II is moving from September 4th, 2020 to April 23, 2021. The film is the follow up to 2018’s sleeper hit A Quiet Place. Returning for the film are Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, Noah Jupe, and John Krasinski.
Top Gun: Maverick is making the jump from December 23, 2020 to July 2, 2021. Just in time for an Independence Day weekend premiere! It’s pretty perfect move for a film with a military focus, and nostalgia on its side. It is the highly anticipated sequel to 1984 classic Top Gun. Tom Cruise returns in the lead role of Maverick along with Val Kilmer as Iceman.
With the majority of movie theaters still closed due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the state of traditional film releases hangs in the balance. Several studios are going back to the drawing board on the best way to release content safely in the new normal. With any luck and hope, these films will hit the big screen!
