A cult classic space centric video game is set for a movie adaptation. Beyond Good & Evil will become a hybrid live action/animated film on Netflix, per The Hollywood Reporter.

2003’s Beyond Good & Evil follows the story of photojournalist Jade as she exposes an alien conspiracy that could end her planet. The space adventure finds her helping the resistance against the shady military. The video game did not perform well at first, but has become quite popular over the years. A sequel game is highly likely.

Detective Pikachu and Goosebumps director Rob Letterman will take the reigns for the film. Letterman has experience with hybrid live action/animation films with Detective Pikachu.

Jason Altman and Margaret Boykin will serve as produces for Ubisoft Film & Television. Everything surrounding the project is in early development at this time.
