Netflix Cancels Altered Carbon

Instead of being one and done, this one is two and through! Netflix has cancelled Altered Carbon!

The futuristic thriller series recently aired its second and final season on February 27, 2020. The cancellation is not due to COVID-19, but a slip in viewership and money. It seems another season would have been too costly.

The novel Altered Carbon by Richard K. Morgan is the source material for the series. Laeta Kalogridis was at the helm for Season 1 and Alison Schapker for season two. Due to the series’ body swapping nature, the lead actor changed from Joel Kinnaman to Anthony Mackie between seasons. Renee Elise Goldsberry and Chris Conner starred in both seasons.

An anime film debut after season 2 on March 19, 2020 to favorable reviews. Altered Carbon is another to add to the growling list on recently cut Netflix series. There seems to be a change happening at the streamer.
