The new Star Trek film isn’t boldly going where any film has gone before any time soon. Deadline reports the Noah Hawley-led Star Trek reboot is currently on hold!
New Paramount Motion Picture Group president Emma Watts is stopping all production on the project to figure out its path. It’s apparently her “top priority”. The film’s short journey is a bumpy one. Early rumors had the film as a Star Trek reboot, but director Noah Hawley confirmed the film would be a new story.
There is also the issue of the studio producing the Quentin Tarantino Star Trek film at the same time. Tarantino has dropped out of directing, and the film is also on pause at the moment. To be clear, the studio is not completely abandoning either project.
Only time will tell if Paramount can work through the kinks and bring Star Trek back to it’s big screen glory!
