Olivia Wilde to Direct Rumored Spider-Woman Movie

Is a Hollywood actress about to step behind the camera and direct the next blockbuster superhero flick? Deadline reports Olivia Wilde will direct a new Marvel film for Sony Pictures!

Apparently, the film will be a female centric adventure in front and behind the scenes. Sony is really trying to bulk up their female presence all around. Wilde will also help develop the story. Katie Silberman will write write the script. Amy Pascal will produce with Rachel O’Connor serving as executive producer.

Olivia Wilde herself retweeted an article on this news and added a comment with a spider! It appears Sony’s newest foray will be Spider-Woman. Spider-Woman has been around since 1977. Wilde’s version will be a new take on the female spidey! There are rumors of Sony trying to build a Spider-Verse especially with Morbius coming out soon!
