Pixar Goes in Depth on New Film Luca

Pixar is moving forward with their newest project! The animation studio goes in depth on Luca, according to Variety!

Luca follows the story of a young boy and his best friend who live on the Italian Rivera. The duo are constantly on adventures, but Luca has a deep dark secret identity. He is actually a sea monster from another world just below the water’s surface. His true self drives conflict with his best friend and life. Will he be able to figure out how to be happy and himself?

Enrico Casarosa will occupy the directors chair for the film. He expresses his personal connection to the film, and optimism for the project. “This is a deeply personal story for me, not only because it’s set on the Italian Riviera where I grew up, but because at the core of this film is a celebration of friendship. So in addition to the beauty and charm of the Italian seaside, our film will feature an unforgettable summer adventure that will fundamentally change Luca.”

Luca is currently on track for a June 18, 2021 theatrical release.
