
Expect more fear on Netflix in the near future. A trilogy of film adaptations of R.L. Stine’s Fear Street book series are set for the streaming service, according to Deadline.
The three films were originally a Fox/Disney property, but Netflix made a deal to acquire the movies. The trilogy is already in the can. Leigh Janiak directed all films, and co-wrote them with Phil Graziadei.
The Fear Street films will cover the source material of the books. A group of teens in 1994 discover several scary events in their hometown of Shadyside, Ohio are likely connected. The teens soon find themselves as the next in line for the strange and terrifying things happening around town. .
Netflix plans to air them under “The Summer of Fear” banner. The films will run about a month apart from each other in Summer 2021.
