Showtime’s angel has fallen. The premium cable network has cancelled Penny Dreadful: City of Angels, according to Variety.
According to the industry trade,
“Showtime has decided not to move forward with another season of ‘Penny Dreadful: City of Angels,’” Showtime said in a statement. “We would like to thank executive producers John Logan, Michael Aguilar and the entire cast and crew for their outstanding work on this project.”
The Penny Dreadful: City of Angel’s first season aired its finale on June 28 and now it will be its last.
The original Penny Dreadful aired over three seasons for a total of 27 episodes. It was a co-production between Showtime and the British network Sky.
