Finally a little positive news from DC Comics. Variety reports Aldis Hodge will possibly star as Hawkman in DC’s Black Adam.
Hawkman’s comic origins go all the way back to 1940. He possess a hawk-like helmet, magic mace and giant wings! He is also a member of the Justice Society of America. This is the character’s first live-action feature film appearance!
Hodge is the latest addition to the cast along with Noah Centineo, and headliner Dwayne Johnson. Jaume Collet-Serra occupies the director’s chair. Rory Haines and Sohrab Noshirvani are responsible for the most recent version of the script.
The character of Hawkman has appeared in both live-action and animated TV series. Falk Hentschel portrayed the character on Arrow, The Flash and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. Though we try to forget that. Stargate: SG1 favorite Michael Shanks played him on Smallville. The character was voiced by Jack Angel and Phil Morris on The All-New Super Friends Hour and Lego DC Comic Super Heroes: Justice League vs. Bizarro League.
Hodge is best known for his long-running role on TNT’s Leverage, Underground and City on the Hill. He starred in The Invisible Man.
