One streamer is getting a new name and content. CBS All Access will become Paramount Plus in early 2021, per TVLine.
In addition to all CBS programs, viewers will now be able to view all MTV, Nickelodeon, Paramount, BET, Comedy Central and Smithsonian Channel productions. Furthermore, there will be several original series for the new streaming service. The Offer tells the behind the scenes story of the 1972 iconic film The Godfather. MTV Behind the Music – The Top 40 will be much like VH1’s Behind the Music, but with a few differences. The series will celebrate 40 years of MTV, and the 40 biggest artists of all time! There are also three more shows featuring Criminal Minds, BET’s The Game, and a newcomer Lioness.
ViacomCBS president and CEO Bob Bakish speaks on the shift from CBS All Access to Paramount Plus. “With Paramount+, we’re excited to establish one global streaming brand in the broad-pay segment that will draw on the sheer breadth and depth of the ViacomCBS portfolio to offer an extraordinary collection of content for everyone to enjoy.”
There is no word on a price point change, but it is highly likely considering the dramatic increase in the catalog of programming. Watch the teaser for Paramount Plus below!
