According to The Direct, Marvel Studios is in the midst of casting roles for an upcoming Ms. Marvel series on Disney Plus.
Reportedly, Jasjit Williams and Saagar Shaikh are in talks to join the Ms. Marvel cast. Their sources tell them Williams would portray Bruno Carrelli while Shaikh could play Kamala Khan’s older brother Aamir Khan.
“While we cannot confirm which characters they will be playing, our sources indicate that Jasjit Williams may be portraying Bruno Carrelli, known in the comics as a tech-savvy friend of Kamala Khan’s who is also a potential love interest. Similarly, Saagar Shaikh appears to be being eyed for the role of Aamir Khan, Kamala’s older brother.”
Jasjit Williams will be new to most audiences. He appeared in the 2015 short Dog, but his other IMDB credits are in post-production.
Saagar Shaikh appear in the YouTube series Just Giggle It and Unfair & Ugly. Unfair & Ugly is about a South Asian Muslim Family in Orange County, California trying to keep it together.
Ms. Marvel is based on the comic by the same name, featuring Kamala Khan as Ms. Marvel, Marvel’s first Muslim superhero.
Development of the series has been drawn out. As far back as January 2019, Variety asked actress Geraldine Viswanathan if she would be interested in playing the trailblazing role. However, no casting of the show’s lead character has been announced.
