Melissa Benoist Reacts to Supergirl Cancellation

Tuesday news broke of Supergirl’s impending doom. Now, lead actress Melissa Benoist sounds off on the series ending via her official Instagram.

Benoist’s Instagram post shows appreciation for the role! She expresses “To say it has been an honor portraying this iconic character would be a massive understatement. Seeing the incredible impact the show has had on young girls around the world has always left me humbled and speechless. She’s had that impact on me, too. She’s taught me strength I didn’t know I had, to find hope in the darkest of places, and that we are stronger when we’re united.”

Additionally, the actress vows the show will go out with a bang! “I promise we’re going to make it one helluva final season.” The series will complete six seasons once everything is said and done.

The CW’s Supergirl will return one last time for 20 episodes in 2021.
