Neve Campbell Returns For Scream 5

Hello, Sidney! It’s official, folks! Neve Campbell returns to the role of Sidney Prescott in Scream 5, per Deadline!

Could there really be a Scream film without the ultimate final girl? Good thing no one has to find out! Campbell originated the role in the first Scream in 1996. The actress expresses her confidence in the new film. “After spending time speaking with Radio Silence, they have shown such love, respect and admiration for Wes Craven and all that he’s created in the ‘Scream’ franchise. I am beyond excited to step back into the role of Sidney Prescott and return to Woodsboro.“

Radio Silence is the filmmaking group behind the project. With Campbell back as Sidney, the original trio is complete as David Arquette and Courteney Cox are already in for the movie. In addition, Dylan Minnette, Mason Gooding and Mikey Madison are all new members of the cast.

Scream 5 begins filming in Wilmington, North Carolina later this year. It’s current release date is set for January 14, 2022.
