A science-fiction classic comes to life one more time in the new century! Warner Bros. drops the first official Dune trailer!

Dune is an adaptation of Frank Herbert’s best selling 1965 novel. It is the first of two films on the book. The story is set in the extreme future on the desert planet Arrakis, also known as Dune. The desolate planet holds the ever valuable substance, “the spice”. The spice makes light travel possible, lengthens human life, and expands the thought process to 1000.

Leto Atreides (Oscar Issac) takes a stewardship on the Arrakis. He brings his family including concubine lady Jessica (Rebecca Ferguson) and son Paul (Timothee Chalamet) to the planet. He knows it is likely a trap set by his enemies, but takes the chance anyways. Leto soon conquers spice mining even with the deadly sandworms. Soon, someone betrays Leto, which forces Paul and Jessica to flee to the natives of Arrakis, the Fremen. From there, all hell breaks loose.

The film is full of top tier Hollywood stars. In addition to Chalamet, Issac and Ferguson, Jason Momoa, Josh Brolin, Zendaya, Javier Bardem, and Stellan Skarsgard all appear in the film. Blade Runner 2049’s Denis Villeneuve occupies the director’s chair. Dune previously hit the big screen under the direction of David Lynch in 1984.
