A 90’s slasher film is getting the tv adaptation treatment. I Know What You Did Last Summer is becoming an Amazon television series.
The series will follow a similar story as the original 1973 Lois Duncan novel and the 1997 movie. A group of teenagers get into a fatal auto-pedestrian accident on their graduation night, but cover it up. Soon after, the man returns from the dead and stalks teens for revenge.
COO and co-head of television for Amazon Studios, Albert Cheng, gives a few words on the series! “The best horror franchises always have another scare coming, and this I Know What You Did Last Summer series from Sara Goodman is a perfectly twisted update to the iconic slasher movie. Any way you slice it, our global Prime Video customers will love this modern take on the fan favorite film.”
Sara Goodman will write the script. Horror extraordinaire James Wan is executing producing with Goodman. The 1997 film from Columbia Pictures starred Jennifer Love Hewitt, Freddie Prinze Jr., Sarah Michelle Gellar, and Ryan Phillippe.
