Honestly, don’t look forward for a big blockbuster release until early next year! Deadline reports Warner Bros. is looking to move Dune to 2021!

The ultimate science fiction film was supposed to debut just in time for Christmas on December 18, 2020. However, with theaters still closed in major U.S. markets the studio is not taking any chances. Word around the water cooler is Dune will now premiere in October 1, 2021.

The hang up for this date is The Batman featuring Robert Pattinson is currently occupying this spot. It’s likely the caped crusader will be pushed back further, especially with production shutting down due to Pattison’s positive COVID diagnosis.

Denis Villeneuve serves as director. The cast includes Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Josh Brolin, Zendaya, Sharon Duncan-Brewster, Jason Momoa, Javier Bardem, Dave Bautista, David Dastmalchian, Charlotte Rampling and Stellan Skarsgård.
