The Suicide Squad stars John Cena and Idris Elba are reuniting for Heads of State at Netflix, according to Deadline.
Reportedly, “specifics are being kept under wraps, but I’m told this is a ’90s style two-hander, a high octane premise that has a bit of Air Force One meets Hobbs and Shaw, bringing together an odd couple in a high stakes situation.”
In addition to starring in the upcoming The Suicide Squad sequel, Cena and Elba are connected through the Fast and Furious franchise. Elba starred as the villain Brixton in Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw. Cena joined the Fast family in F9, whose premiere was recently delayed to May 2021 due to COVID.
Cena is also set to star in a spinoff of The Suicide Squad sequel Peacemaker on HBO Max.
