Go Go Power Rangers! Jonathan Entwistle is now responsible for the new Power Rangers Universe for Hasbro and eOne studios, according to The Hollywood Reporter!
Entwistle will lead the charge in bringing the Power Rangers back to the big and small screens. Hasbro’s vision is to have an entire Power Rangers Universe with Entwistle at the helm.
Additionally, Entwistle is directing and producing both the upcoming film and television projects. He gives a few words on his vision for the Power Rangers. “This is an unbelievable opportunity to deliver new Power Rangers to both new and existing generations of awaiting and adoring fans. We’ll bring the spirit of analog into the future, harnessing the action and storytelling that made this brand a success. I’m looking forward to working with the teams at eOne and Hasbro. Together, we can’t wait to share more Power Rangers with the world very soon.“
Power Rangers is based on a Japanese tokusatsu franchise Super Sentai. The first U.S. TV series in 1993, The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, took the world by storm. The engine in that train shows no signs of stopping. Even though 2017’s Power Rangers feature film underperformed at the box office, the studio is moving full steam ahead with more Power Rangers content.
